Data, Evidence and Analytics

Leveraging our expertise in Implementation Research, Social and Behavioral Research, and Data and Decision Sciences, EPIC Health Systems designs, implements, manages, and monitors complex studies, including multisite clinical trials and feasibility studies in resource-limited settings. We provide comprehensive support for governments and partners in study design, site identification and development, site monitoring, management and training, data management, quality and integrity, biostatistics and statistical analysis, protocol development, research operations, and logistical support.

Our services span the entire research lifecycle:

Conceptualize

We offer comprehensive research planning and study design, utilizing quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods. Our experience includes conducting clinical trials, pragmatic clinical trials, cross-sectional and longitudinal surveys, and matched cohort studies.

Discover

Our team conducts policy, project, and program evaluations, implementation science studies, and behavioral trials. We also perform rapid and systematic literature reviews to ensure our research is grounded in the latest scientific evidence.

Engage, Translate, and Impact

EPIC Health Systems provides specialized training courses, presentations, and workshops to disseminate our findings. We produce detailed publications and reports, offering expert advice and recommendations, including legal services and court consultations.

Gather and Analyze

We manage data through advanced data warehousing and ensure data security with best practices for handling sensitive information. Our data collection methodologies include surveys, interviews, and online recruitment. We also specialize in data linkage, data analysis and interpretation, comparative effectiveness analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, and matched analysis.

Our projects and applications of advanced analytics span several areas. In disease surveillance and outbreak prediction, we use data analytics to monitor disease patterns, predict potential outbreaks, and enable timely public health responses. For health service optimization, we analyze operational data to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of health services, ensuring better resource utilization.

Through our implementation research, we develop, implement, and evaluate innovative interventions – such as digital health solutions – that enhance patient care, streamline operations, and improve health outcomes into existing health systems. We identify barriers and facilitators to implementation, ensuring health innovations are effectively adopted and scaled.

Through our Behavioural Research Unit (BRET), we conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand and identify the determinants of health-related behaviors and social norms within the health system context and develop interventions to promote positive change. Collaborating with communities, health providers, and policymakers, we design, implement, and evaluate behavior change strategies aimed at creating healthier lifestyles and improving health outcomes. Our work includes developing evidence-based interventions, enhancing health communication, and providing capacity-building programs for stakeholders.

Through our Centre for Research and Engagement in Assessment of Health Technology (CREATE), we evaluate the impact of health technologies on clinical outcomes, cost-effectiveness, and health system efficiency. We conduct comprehensive health technology assessments (HTAs) to inform decision-making and policy development. Our centre works closely with manufacturers, health providers, and regulators to assess the safety, efficacy, and value of new and existing health technologies.
