Who We Are

Fentabil Getnet Yimer has a recognized experience in the field of public health and global health. A holder of PhD degree in Public Health, he worked for 15 years as academician, researcher, public health leader and consultant for governmental and international organizations. He worked as a faculty at Jigjiga University in Ethiopia from graduate assistant-to-assistant professor ranks and postgraduate program coordinator and as senior researcher at the Ethiopian Public Health Institute where he contributed to multiple evidence generation activities targeting health policymaking in Ethiopia including health systems, immunization, infectious diseases and nutrition. He served as the Director of the National Data Management and Analytic Centre for Health (NDMC) at the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) where he led multi-million dollar projects. Dr. Yimer recently completed his postdoctoral fellowship from the Takemi program in International Health at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in USA. Up on his return, he co-designed a joint initiative on Health Decision Science research and capacity between EPHI and Harvard. He is currently the lead of the Health Decision Science Unit at NDMC- a joint initiative between EPHI and Harvard University.
